This past Mother's Day, the JC Penney's commercial above made me cry on a fairly regular basis. I think it must have played on the Style Network sixteen times an hour.
You know, when I was watching my WEDDING SHOWS and doing on-line comparisons for TAMPONS.
(I may have brass cajones but I'm such a girly girl sometimes!)
I went home this weekend, and my sister informed me that she had found the artist and song name used in said commercial. (Joshua Radin/"Only You".)
Is it pathetic that I spent most of today listening to that song and sobbing hysterically? I MEAN, REALLY! A song from a commercial?! A two-month old commercial?!
(Erin, I win- it is a song by the band Yazoo. It was in "Napoleon Dynamite," the British Office, and "Can't Hardly Wait.")
Update: This song/commercial has taken both Nick and Frank down... who else is with us? I want to hear about your TEARS!

I saw Josh Radin play when I was in L.A. in May. He's awesome. The back up singer is Sissy Spacek's daughter Schuyler Fisk, who also has an EP out.
Sissy Spacek sang back up at the show I went to since it was in L.A. which was interesting.
That's hilarious that made you cry. I think I cry easily and I didn't even tear up. Sucka.
Yes, tears welled up...doesn't help that I am 8 months pregnant with another boy, our last child. So that leaves me with two boys and one girl--a little brunette like the commercial... Thanks, like I needed to cry again today.

This is only my very favorite song. I loved it when Yaz released it years ago, and with my boyfriend's (aka Joshua Radin's) soft sexy voice. Yummy. Check out his other stuff - Star Mile is also one of my faves.
That commercial hurt my heart, and that song was great. Lori has exposed me to Joshua Radin so I'm already smitten with him.
Well, I didn't cry, but that's a sweet commercial (that I'd never seen before) and I do love that song. Loved it when Yaz did it, but the new version is even better!
Okay...well I'm a total sucker for anything "mom" related. And I love Josh and Schuyler. He has this song called "The Fear You Won't Fall". It's probably my favorite song of the year. He was amazing in concert.
